A campaign has been launched by the Northwich Business Improvement District (BID) to celebrate the community spirit that’s been present in the town since lockdown began.

Northwich Together shines a spotlight on the businesses that have adapted over recent weeks, the traders who are closed but looking forward to re-opening and the consumers who have been supporting them all despite not being able to use the high street like they normally would.

Northwich BID Manager Jane Hough has explained the reasoning behind the campaign.

“Through liaising with businesses and posting on our social channels we have witnessed first-hand their ingenuity, creativity and passion which has been evident through the many ways they have adapted to keep trading,” said Jane.

“We’ve also seen our consumers respond to this with unwavering support, pledging to shop local where they can and spend their money within the town.

“Northwich Together shines a spotlight on this relationship between the businesses and consumers and helps promote the message that many traders are still there for their customers even with everything that is going on at the moment.”

As part of the campaign, the Northwich BID are on the lookout for their followers on the Visit Northwich Facebook page to share photos or videos of them and their families enjoying products, goods and services that they have purchased from town centre businesses.

This could be anything from enjoying takeaway meals and drinks to art products, knitting supplies or board games, plus everything in between.

A video will also be released within the next few weeks bringing together both consumer stories and comments and reactions from businesses, to highlight the community spirit that has been on show and to provide hope for the future of Northwich’s high street as lockdown restrictions ease in the future.

A soft-launch of the campaign took place on the Visit Northwich and Northwich Life Facebook pages over May’s first bank holiday weekend, with dozens of pictures now starting to come in from people all over the town and beyond.
