Getting here

Northwich is easily accessed from any of the usual modes of transport. If you’re travelling by car, there’s ample free parking all over the town.

FREE PARKING

Northwich has a large number of free car parks, which makes it an ideal place to stop, whether you’re visiting to do some shopping, grab a bite to eat, or explore the local woodlands.

With the Baron’s Quay development now well under way, some of the car parks in Northwich are temporarily closed. See the parking map for car park locations and more information.

By Car

If you’re travelling by car, Northwich has ample free parking around the town which allows visitors to park up, browse the great variety of shops on offer, enjoy a bite to eat, and explore the Leisure activities that Northwich has to offer, all without the need to pay for parking.

If you’re travelling to Northwich along the M6, simply leave the motorway at Junction 15 Knutsford and follow signs for Northwich. From Junction 15, it is only a 20 minute drive into the centre of town.

If you’re travelling on the M56, leave the motorway at Junction 10 Stockton Heath Interchange and head south through Antrobus. Follow signs for Northwich and again, you will arrive in around 20 minutes, depending on traffic.

By Train

If you are visiting Northwich by train, Northwich Railway Station is only a 10-15 minutes walk away from the town centre. Simply follow Station Road up to the roundabout, and then take a left into town.

If you would like to take a bus into town from the station, there is a bus stop just a short walk down station road, towards town. This bus service runs regularly and will take you directly to the Northwich Bus Interchange, which is adjacent to the centre of town.

If you are travelling to Northwich from further afield, it may be easier for you to travel to Hartford Train Station, which is around a 20 minute walk from the town centre.

By Bus

If you are from the surrounding areas of Northwich, you may want to consider travelling by bus, as there are numerous bus services that will take you to the Northwich Bus Interchange, adjacent to the centre of town.

By Water

Those who travel by water along the River Weaver often stop at Northwich’s visitor mooring between Northwich Town Bridge and Hayhurst Bridge, where the River Dane meets the River Weaver.

Just a short distance downstream from Northwich visitor mooring, you will arrive at the iconic Anderton Boat Lift that takes you up to the Trent and Mersey Canal.
